We thought that we weren't going to enjoy today as we had to do some work - shame! However, following a meeting in Liverpool we decided to salvage the day and head over to Addingham to visit our friend Lou at TP Books.
Lou stocks a fabulous selection of collectable juvenile fiction and I spent a lovely couple of hours browsing her stock. I selected a small collection of fine books including a couple of beautiful annuals from the 1930s, Mabel Esther Allan's Amber House - a novel I have never read and which is on my Christmas reading list; Geoffrey Trease's Detectives in the Dales and a small number of school stories from the 1920s and 1930s.
We topped off our day with a late afternoon tea in Betty's (in Ilkley) where we all sampled festive fat rascals and cinnamon toast - yummy! What a fab day! Roll on Christmas.
