For Christmas I received a very fine fountain pen - a Montegrappa Miya. Manufactured by the Italian firm Monetgrappa, it is finished in a lovely red celluloid which catches the light as you write. The 18K gold nib is smooth as butter and the whole thing has sterling silver finishes.
The pen is a slightly unusual shape, having a 'hump' just where your fingers rest when writing with it. It's something you either love or hate but, personally, I find it makes the pen very comfortable to hold and I can see it's going to give me years of service.
Being Italian they think of everything. They even include a silver polishing cloth so that your pen always looks its best!
