Today is warm and fairly sunny and a glance into the garden suggests that there are still plenty of insects around. The lavender at the end of the garden is absolutely alive with cabbage white butterflies, with the occasional red admiral and plenty of bees. Next to it the yellow buddleia is also attracting bees, mainly the smaller solitary types. And next to that the tall mint, now topped with purple flowers, is attracting everything.
Of course we still need to encourage them but the risk of imminent extinction seems to have abated for now.
