A few weeks ago we spent a night at Beaumaris on Anglesey and then meandered back through North Wales the following day.
As we left Beaumaris the choppy sea was especially eye-catching |
As we drove round the island we came across a secluded cove at Traeth Bychan |
The tide was well out |
Pebbles and shells on the beach |
The weather was glorious at Caernarfon Castle |
The castle was designed to be intimidating |
The castle is recognised as one of the best surviving medieval buildings in the world |
St Asaph Cathedral, said to be the smallest Anglican cathedral in Britain |
Not much remains of Denbigh Castle but the setting is very peaceful |
The position, on top of a hill overlooking the town, gives excellent views |
Centuries of attacks have taken their toll |
This tower, near the castle, is all that remains of a local church |
