This is the time of year when I am normally revelling in the annual Gilbert and Sullivan Festival. This year, the Festival, like so many other events, has been cancelled. It's so sad, but there's nothing to be done except hope that everything will be better next year.
So, I was delighted to find that the Gilbert and Sullivan Festival Company has launched a website, with shows from previous years, available to download and watch at home.
Tonight, we are enjoying The Gondoliers, one of my favourite G&S operas. This is a 2019 production and one which Bernie, my G&S friend, and I thoroughly enjoyed last year. This year, I am watching the production in my own living room - strange but still very pleasurable!
So far, I have downloaded The Mikado, Ruddigore, Iolanthe and Pirates of Penzance. Whisper it quietly, but Chris is watching them with me!!! I really never expected this!
