Chris and I have both been unwell for a couple of weeks, and books have proved to be even more of a solace and comfort than normal. I seem to have hoovered up more books than ever!
My selection has been eclectic and I've been reading true comfort books. I reread all of Enid Blyton's Barney books. I was surprised how much I enjoyed them and how little I remembered most of them. I've always loved Blyton and she's difficult to beat when you're not feeling 100%.
I have continued to read Geoffrey Trease's Black Banner books. I love the settings in the Lake District with a fictionalised Cockermouth, Wastwater and Wasdale. In addition, I enjoyed a couple of Malcolm Saville's
Anyway, I'm starting to feel better now so I'm feeling able to return to some light fiction and crime mysteries. Hopefully, I'll feel able to tackle some more serious tomes soon!
