Primroses

The second half of March usually produces a (limited) show of colour in the garden. If we're lucky enough to have some sunny days these spots of colour look like jewels, dropped into the borders amongst all the dead twigs and detritus left over from last year.

Often we have some snowdrops, a few daffodils and even some bluebells. This year our show is more limited because of some work we did in the garden last autumn (one of our Covid projects) which disturbed the established clusters of bulbs

But well away from the site of the work, in a damp corner where nothing grows, we now have a beautiful display of primroses.

After what must have been the longest winter in 100 years, these jolly little flowers have really cheered us up!
