I'm hoping that, if all things go well with everything COVID-19 related, this might be my final Lockdown Reading post.
Reading has certainly been a huge solace over the past twelve months. It's helped to keep me sane and happy when our lives were crashing down around our ears! I've read many different genres and indulged in reading I probably wouldn't have had time for in normal times. I have loved reading the entire series of Oxenham's Abbey books. Without Lockdown I'm not sure I would have completed this mammoth task.
Cosy crime has been another staple of the past twelve months. This has also been reflected in our TV viewing - Midsomer Murders and Foyle's War have featured. We haven't quite finished Midsomer, there is an awful lot of it!
As always, literary biography has been fascinating. There have been some really excellent biographies published this year. I have also loved Margaret Drabble A Writer's Britain, a truly inspirational read. It mad me remember why I love Drabble's writing so much.
So, all in all, a highly satisfying twelve months of reading. But, now I hope to get on with some living, although I'll still be reading, of course!
