After a delicious picnic, the stirring tale of Henry V's war with France and conquest of the fair Princess Katherine, unfolded before us.
I'm not sure whether the actors were even better than usual, or if, having been deprived of live theatre for 18 months, has heightened my appreciation, but they were excellent. The play sped along, totally engaging and full of vim and vigour. I particularly enjoyed the French lesson between the Princess and her lady in waiting - brilliant and so funny!
The play certainly lived up to its marketing "follow the charismatic King Henry the Fifth in this stirring tale of leadership, bravery, humour, and love; exhilarating entertainment for a Summer’s evening."
The evening was rounded off with a fabulous sunset. Roll on the next theatrical extravaganza!
