The Lodore Falls Hotel is a luxury hotel on the edge of Derwentwater with a stunning series of waterfalls just behind it. Within the hotel is Mizu: a pan-Asian restaurant serving delicious food in this unique setting. We tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago.
The format is ‘small sharing plates’ and Japanese is the dominant cuisine with tempura, sushi, ramen noodles, gyoza dumplings and katsu curry. There are plenty of vegan options and we had no problem putting together a filling, tasty meal. If we had felt more lazy we could have simply chosen the vegan platter which would have given us a selection from across the menu.
Service was efficient without being intrusive and we found the whole experience was a perfect, relaxing end to a day in the Lakes. We’ll definitely be returning.
