On Saturday, on our way back from Ulverston, we detoured to Birkrigg Stone Circle. High up on the common overlooking Birkrigg, the circle is in a great location and the weather and tides were perfect for us to enjoy amazing views across Morecambe Bay. As we did so, we tried to imagine the lives of the people who built the circle between 3400 and 3700 years ago.
