Haunted was performed by Darkness and Light and comprised two ghost stories: W. W. Jacobs' The Monkey's Paw and F. Marion Crawford's The Upper Berth.
We’ve not seen this company perform before and we thought they were excellent. The performance was suitably spooky with lots of ghostly lighting and sound effects. It was all very convincing and creepy.
These were two tales which definitely chilled the blood!
In The Monkey's Paw the White family are visited by an old friend who brings with him a strange object, said to be able to grant wishes to anyone who possesses it. As the old saying goes: be careful what you wish for!
The second tale - Cabin 105 - tells of an ill-fated ocean liner which has many strange tales attached to it about the thing that dwells in the upper berth. But none of the stories can be true… can they?
I'm really enjoying this new-to-me type of theatre and we're looking forward to seeing lots more.
