The production was by Hotbuckle Theatre, and the small cast of four actors complemented the boutique venue nicely. This new production of this timeless classic was very funny. Four actors played all the parts, with rapid, on stage, changing of clothes.
There were many similarities with the production of Pride and Prejudice (sort of) we saw in Chester, including many laugh out loud moments. Whilst all the characterisation was excellent, I think I particularly enjoyed the interpretation of the Steele sisters. They were just so funny.
The marketing for the production said "with dazzling wit, humour and sharp characterisations, Austen’s captivating story is brought to vivid life by members of Hotbuckle in this new version by Adrian Preater".
We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will be looking out for more Hotbuckle productions in the future.
