We love Blackwell - ‘the Arts and Crafts House’ - overlooking Windermere. Originally built at the turn of the 20th century as a holiday home for the proprietor of Manchester’s Holt’s Brewery, it is a fine example of the Arts and Crafts style.
The building is a classic of its type but the architectural details, inside and out, are especially interesting, all showing the enormous skill of the wide range of craftsmen involved.
