Our second helping of Gilbert and Sullivan in Buxton was Iolanthe. This time we were regaled by the Brussels Light Opera Company.
The show was excellent and extremely funny. Iolanthe has some of my favourite Gilbert songs and lyrics, as well as beautiful music by Sullivan.
The fairies tripped hither and thither, all clad in sparkly green; the peers were suitably solemn and rather stupid! Strephon and Phyllis stole the show.
An excellent evening's entertainment.
