To Dalemain, a historic mansion house overlooking Ullswater in the North Lakes. As well as the house and gardens, there was a plant fair. Dalemain also produces award-winning marmalade from its own produce and there were tastings of the range today.
The plant fair offered a wide range, including herbs, roses and cottage garden staples, all at good prices. We bought a beautiful rose as well as a colourful Pieris.
After a bite to eat we sampled the marmalades, and some chutneys, before choosing a few to take home. And then we moved on to Keswick and Words by the Water.
