Sudley House is an outpost of National Museums Liverpool and, located in the leafy suburb of Aigburth, it couldn't be more different from the larger museums and galleries in the city centre. Quiet and calm are the themes here, and visitors can browse the works on display as slowly as they like.
The house is Victorian and houses the art collection of George Holt, a shipping line owner, and his collection of paintings are beautifully displayed in the fine house. They include works by pre-Raphaelites and Turner, amongst others.
