We were delighted to see that Eden Baroque was performing at the Heron Theatre, in Beetham, this Sunday.
We discovered this fabulous duo a couple of years ago, and really enjoy their polished performances of Baroque music. Eden Baroque brings well-known and less performed Baroque chamber music to as wide an audience as possible. They are specialists in 17th and 18th century historical performance, and perform on authentic instruments.
Today's programme included John Dowland's Awake, Sweet Love Thou Art Return'd; Henry Purcell's Music for a While; Henry Eccles' Sonata Number 11 in G Minor and Joseph Haydn's Transports of Delight. There were also a couple of Handel pieces, played beautifully on the harpsichord.
Such a treat for a dreary November Sunday, and only 10 minutes up the road!
