On Saturday we enjoyed Graham Tyson performing a reading of A Christmas Carol at Lindeth Howe Hotel, in Bowness-on -Windermere. It's so lovely to get into the Christmas spirit, and there's nothing more Christmassy than some Charles Dickens.
The recitation was from the authentic version of A Christmas Carol as used by Charles Dickens himself on his reading tour of the UK in 1890. Graham Tyson's performance was as excellent as ever, and he really brought this wonderful story to life. It just so happened that we had watched the Patrick Stewart adaptation only a few days earlier, so we were ready for another, and different, dose of Dickens.
Our Dickens' season will be rounded off with a trip to The Old Laundry Theatre, again in Bowness-on-Windermere, later this week, for Dyad's adaptation of A Christmas Carol. We're not sure what to expect, but we know that we are definitely feeling festive.
