A day in The Dales

We usually work on a Monday but this week we decided on a day out. The weather was fine and very Spring-like and our first stop was Kirkby Lonsdale, still reeling from the horror of the huge fire before Christmas. The Main Street is still closed and local shopkeepers are understandably worried for their future.

We moved on to Settle where we had a bite of lunch in The Folly before picking up some savoury baked goods in the Naked Man Bakery.

Ilkley was our next stop. More baked goods, this time sweet ones, from Betty’s before half an hour or so browsing in The Grove Bookshop.

And finally a quick detour to Bolton Abbey and its charming Wharfedale location. Then a gentle drive home.
