Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy

We don't go to the cinema very often, but we couldn't resist the latest Bridget Jones movie - Mad About The Boy.

We had such a fabulous afternoon. The Brewery Arts Centre's cinema, in Kendal, is excellent, small and extremely comfortable.

The film didn't disappoint, we were apprehensive, especially as we knew that there would be no Mark Darcy and Bridget would be a widow. But, it was so funny and poignant, with lots of nods to the earlier films - the sheer top, large pants, Hugh Grant reprising his Daniel Cleaver role, silly little booties and the red penguin pyjamas!

I’ve loved Bridget since her early appearance in the Independent column, a friend at work in the Nineties used to read it aloud each week, as well as modelling herself on Bridget! I felt this film was true to Helen Fielding’s novels and an excellent afternoon’s entertainment.
