We have only discovered Eden Baroque quite recently but we are now confirmed fans - perhaps even groupies. So we were delighted to go to their Spring performance, in the music room attached to their house in Great Salkeld, and enjoy a couple of hours of baroque music.
On this occasion they were joined by Susanna Pell who introduced us to her viola da gamba, a stringed instrument which is played whist held between the legs, rather than being held like a violin.
The programme was, as always, carefully chosen and included works by Handel, Marais, Telemann and Rameau. All three musicians took turns and the mix of instruments with some singing was truly delightful.
We’re already looking forward to their summer concert!
